Electromagnetics

The electromagnetics method refers to using fixed frequency time-varying magnetic fields to excite electrical current in the ground using the principal of electromagnetic induction. It's generally used to measure the electrical conductivity of soils and rocks, as well as to detect metals. The method is widely used to determine soil type and the presence of conductive contaminants in the environmental industry.
